Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Tanja Sappok
Priv.-Doz. Dr. Tanja Sappok is head of the Department for Mental Health in Developmental Disabilities at the Ev. Krankenhaus Königin Elisabeth Herzberg in Berlin where she runs the in- and outpatient clinic for adults with ID and mental disorders. She is consultant for Neurology, Psychiatry and Psychotherapy and senior lecturer at the Charité University Hospital. Her scientific interests are Autism Spectrum Disorders, Emotional Development and Challenging Behaviours in people with ID. She is founding member of the Network of Europeans on Emotional Development (NEED) and leads the Autism working group at KEH Hospital. By publishing books and papers, engaging with national and international ID and ASD societies, giving lectures and her daily work she aims to improve mental health and wellbeing of people with intellectual developmental disorders.
